One of the most informative workshops that I sat in at this last ASIA convention was the one Bill Moll and Frank Ford did on "digital photography for musical instruments". I don't know if you were at that workshop John but it sounds like it! It was nice to meet you there by the way.
I am in the process of building a similar set up, can't wait to try it out...I just got a new camera too, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 and it is sweet! It's a 5 megapixel with a 12x zoom that really gets in there.
I'm so looking forward to it, and then re-doing my website. My photos there really are lame! Mark Swanson38567.7018402778

Mark, I bought one for my wife for our anniversary this year. She loves it and it puts her old Kodak to shame.

All right thanks. I have a photo folder in my GuitarPics called shop ideas. All the ideas like this are stored there for a rainy day. Thanks for the Repost John. I didn't understand that it was John O's setup. Regardless, yours or his it's smart and it works.

If you're not gonna invest in photo stuff and have a tripod, use it. 2MP cameras can rival a 4 MP camera if it has a tripod. I thought I had a steady hand, but what a difference!

Thanks John & John, for the tips.

BTW do you spray silver paint iside the reflector/diffuser or what?

He liked it, he liked it!

Bruce -

Hey, thanks for the good word, and the links to that thread. Once I finally got the message that taking photos is all about lighting, my pictures really started improving.

Cheers,

Frank
